Seventeenth PCA Vis Pre-Moot 2024 in The Hague

On 18 and 19 March 2024, the PCA hosted practice moot rounds for the 31st Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

The following teams attended in The Hague:

1.      Erasmus University of Rotterdam 2.      London School of Economics and Political Science 3.      Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai 4.      Shahid Beheshti University 5.      The University of Queensland 6.      University of California, Los Angeles School of Law

7.      Federal University of Rio de Janeiro 8.      Maastricht University 9.      National Law University, Jodhpur 10.   The Hague University of Applied Sciences 11.   The University of Sydney 12.   University of Geneva

 

Over two days, each team had the chance to plead before tribunals composed of international arbitration specialists from various jurisdictions and legal backgrounds. The teams received detailed feedback on their pleadings in order to assist their preparation for the Vis Moot, which commences on 22 March 2024.

After four rounds, the team with the highest average total score was the University of Sydney.  The runner-up was National Law University, Jodhpur, and the University of Queensland placed third.  The oralist with the highest score was Jason Zhu He from the University of Sydney. Olivia Donovan and Dhruv Singh Garcha placed second and third.

The PCA would like to thank all teams and arbitrators for another successful edition of the Pre-Moot and wishes all teams the best of luck for the competition in Vienna.
