The PCA administered arbitral hearings in Costa Rica in May 2008, invoking for the first time its Host Country Agreement with Costa Rica.

Although the PCA’s hearing and meeting rooms at the Peace Palace in The Hague remain popular, more than half of PCA administered cases now have places of arbitration outside The Hague. Hearings in recent cases have been held in locations such as Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, and Washington, D.C.
