PCA Signs Host Country Agreement with Government of India - September 2008

During an official ceremony held at the Peace Palace on September 19, 2008, the Secretary-General, Mr. Christiaan Kröner, and the Minister for Law and Justice for India, Mr. Hansraj Bhardwaj, signed the Host Country Agreement between the Government of India and the PCA, which will facilitate dispute-resolution activities of the PCA in India and on the Indian sub-continent.

 

The Agreement establishes a legal framework under which future PCA-administered proceedings can be conducted in India on an ad hoc basis. To date, the PCA has also signed Host Country Agreements with the Republic of Costa Rica, the Lebanese Republic, the Republic of Singapore, and with the Republic of South Africa.
